Pebble Gate Place

Sandwich lies on the river Stour which flows for two miles to Sandwich Bay, an unspoilt stretch of pebble beach. The medieval town with its narrow winding streets offers a range of eclectic individual shops, a Co-Op supermarket and a great selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Sandwich Bay is home to two nature reserves and award-winning golf courses Royal St George’s and Prince’s and is just an 11 minute drive to the popular town of Deal and 7 minutes to Pegwell Bay which forms part of the Sandwich Bay and Pegwell National Nature Reserve.

Sandwich has four schools: Sandwich Infant School, Sandwich Junior School, and for older pupils, Sandwich Technology School and Sir Roger Manwood’s School. Westwood Cross Shopping centre is 18 minutes’ drive and offers a range of shopping, restaurants and entertainment venues.

Travel routes from Sandwich include rail travel to St Pancras in just over 90 minutes and access to the M2 via the A259; Canterbury is a 30- minute drive.
